Dear 99%,

I recently drove past your home and could not help but notice the “We are the 99%” sign displayed in your front yard. I would like to thank you for posting that notice. You see, unlike Liberals, I detest “speech codes” and other forms of suppression of Free Speech. I love it when individuals exercise their right to openly announce their beliefs – it serves as fair warning to those around them to regard the person for exactly what they are. And in your case, proclaiming yourself as part of “The 99%” tells me you are nothing but a common looter to be avoided at all costs.

Personally, I regard the Looters of our society with more contempt than a common thief. The thief faces me openly, pitting his desire to acquire my property by force against my ability to defend the property. In short, the thief’s action may be stopped by a bullet from my gun. Looters, on the other hand, are far more contemptible. Rather than performing the theft themselves, they employ third parties to do their dirty-work. You vote for Democrats who impose rules and regulations that deteriorate my ability to be productive. When that is not enough for the parasites of society, they sap away even more of my ability with their taxes.

I have a recommendation. Rather than strive to pull “The 53%” down to your level, you should desire to rise to their ranks. It is not possible for a society to prosper by reducing the most valuable members to the level of the lowest common denominator. Here is an example – over a career lasting more than 30 years, I have paid in excess of $500,000 in taxes. A few years ago I simply made up my mind: enough is enough. With that decision, I remove the best of my abilities from the market. Where once you saw a skilled Telecommunications Engineer, you now see me performing little more than menial labor. What point was there in earning all that extra money just to have it looted away. I wonder if you can even comprehend the point: the world derives more value from the most able members of society but regards them as objects of derision. I have taken away from you any excuse to despise me. The side effect is that you no longer have the benefits of my abilities.

Whatever it is that causes you to hold your betters in contempt does not interest me. Be it simply a matter of laziness that makes you inferior to those who work hard or stupidity that cannot rival the ability of those of intellect, the point is the same. Until and unless you begin to regard those of us who Produce as someone to be praised rather than a host to be drained, your path will lead to your own destruction.

I recommend you read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. If it doesn’t alter your thinking, at least it will warn you of what to expect when the Productive finally to choose to remove themselves from the reach of the parasites.

I Hate West Virginia!

At about 5:30pm on October 18, 2011, I decided once and for all that I absolutely hate West Virginia and all of its people.

I was driving from Hewett to Chapmanville when I saw a number of things along the road: a woman walking with two young boys, an oversized pickup truck and a small dog. In an instant, this tiny dog was hit by the truck, tumbled along the side of the road and came to rest in a ditch. The woman with her boys kept on walking and the driver of the truck didn’t even slow down.

I quickly pulled over and went to the dogs aid but there was nothing to do. She clearly had massive internal injuries as indicated by the blood dripping from her open mouth. I placed my hand on her side in a futile attempt to provide some comfort for her. It is my greatest hope that she did not even sense my presence as I wanted her passing to be as quick as possible.

She was a small terrier mix, white with brown and black markings. Her tail had been cropped – I shudder to think that this was probably a “do it yourself” job committed by a dumb-ass hillbilly. Her nipples were swollen indicating a recent batch of puppies. It was probably the sin of yet another batch of unwanted puppies that doomed her to being dropped at some random point along the road. If only she had been spayed.

By this time, the woman, with kids in tow, had started to walk back toward the dog. I asked if she knew who the owner was. I was informed that it “just showed up” a few weeks ago and that she had been “taking care of it”. Bullshit! If she had been “taking care of it”, this would not have happened. Here is a note to all the scum of West Virginia: taking care of your animals does not mean letting them run the roads. It is only a matter of time before they are hit by a car and suffer the same fate as this little one.

“Just showed up” is a euphemism for “some other irresponsible hillbilly decided they didn’t want her any more and just abandoned her along the road somewhere.” This is actually a socially accepted practice in West Virginia.

This event demonstrated to me once and for all that West Virginia deserves every negative title they have ever been given. Whether it be tops in the nation for missing teeth, addiction to prescription pain pills or teen pregnancy, all the jabs and insults are true. That also goes for the few who are not on welfare and do take care of their pets because they simply shake their heads rather than kill those at the bottom of the gene pool. As it is said, “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing”.

The harsh reality is this: if one of the boys walking with the mother had been hit and killed rather than the dog, I would not have felt nearly as sad.

We Choose

Those immortal words should be ingrained into the memory of every living citizen of the United States. It is with the delivery of this speech, that President Kennedy set a national goal that propelled the United States of America to become the worldwide leader in space exploration and technology. However, the words are not part of our national memory. Today, with the landing of the last Space Shuttle mission, that dream has faded away forever.

Now, nearly 50 years later, by way of silent acquiescence, Barack Obama has allowed the Space Shuttle program to come to an end. It is all together fitting that it should have happened during his administration. After all, he is the embodiment of Marxist principles. The bitter irony is that for most of those 50 years, the Russians played catch-up. Finally, a true Marxist has caused Russia to move to the top spot in The Space Race. In the future, American astronauts will have to hitch a ride on a Soyuz rocket if we wish to participate in the single greatest achievement of mankind.

How did we get to this point? We Choose.

We Choose to spend more in 6 months on Social Welfare programs than we did on the entire Apollo Program.
We Choose to allow teachers unions to dictate the standards under which our children are educated.
We Choose to forget that Freedom breeds Prosperity and that without the former, we will never again have the latter.

Ayn Rand stated it more eloquently in the September 1969 issue of The Objectivist. After witnessing the launch of Apollo 11, she said, “As far as ‘national priorities’ are concerned, I want to say the following: we do not have to have a mixed economy, we still have a chance to change our course and thus to survive. But if we do continue down the road of a mixed economy, then let them pour all the millions and billions they can into the space program. If the United States is to commit suicide, let it not be for the sake and support of the worst human elements, the parasites-on-principle, at home and abroad. Let it not be its only epitaph that it died paying its enemies for its own destruction. Let some of its lifeblood go to the support of achievement and the progress of science. Money Bomb

Yesterday, the Ron Paul campaign’s Money Bomb raised over $1,000,000 in contributions. That is about one-tenth of one percent (.001%) of what Obama is expected to raise for his campaign.

Treating Presidential elections like a popularity contest accurately reflects how ignorant the typical US voter is.

Unless American voters wake up and realize that they must elect the only candidate that has respect for the US Constitution, the nation is doomed to collapse. When it does, don’t come to me for help – I will have moved to Galt’s Gulch!

bin Laden

Just a short time ago, I watched as President Obama addressed the nation to announce that Osama Bin Laden had been killed by a team of US Operatives sometime last week. While this news should provide some degree of comfort to our Nation, I cannot help but be critical on at least one aspect of events this evening.

News coverage showed a mass of people gathered outside the White House to celebrate. The one thing that stood out to me was the age of the average member of the crowd. They all appeared to be young, 20-somethings. How is it possible that such a jubilant celebration could spontaneously break out among a population of people who were between 10 and 12 years old when Bin Laden carried out is evil plan?

These people are joiners – they see a demonstration or a celebration and they unthinkingly just jump in. How long will it take these “joiners” to forget their chants of “U-S-A” and return to their denunciations of the US Military and Intelligence communities? A few months ago, many of these same people were cheering wikileaks without once thinking that the leaked information puts operations like the one that led to Bin Laden’s demise in jeopardy.

A word of warning to all you joiners. Consider what instructions sleeper agents living in this nation were given to execute upon Bin Laden’s death. Lets hope that the US Intelligence community has a good handle on this situation. In the mean time, you might want to avoid large gatherings like the celebration you are currently attending.

PAYCHECKS!

I saw this statement in an article posted on money.cnn.com

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Wal-Mart's core shoppers are running out of money much faster than a year ago due to rising gasoline prices, and the retail giant is worried, CEO Mike Duke said Wednesday.

"Purchases are really dropping off by the end of the month even more than last year," Duke said. "This end-of-month [purchases] cycle is growing to be a concern.

PAYCHECKS! How many employers pay their employees once per month at the beginning of the month? These are not paychecks, these are welfare checks, SSDI checks, “crazy checks” and just about every other form of loot. They are not paychecks! Paychecks are wages paid to employees who earn the money.

Do not call them Paychecks – call them what they are: Lootchecks.

Unions or Blacks

I have commented before about how the Liberals water themselves down by trying to please too many interest groups.

Boeing Aircraft has nearly completed a factory to make the 787, their newest aircraft, in South Carolina (a Right-to-Work state). Years ago Boeing embarked on a strategy of de-concentrating all their assembly in the Seattle area.

The National Labor Relations Board (NRLB) just ruled that Boeing is trying to bust unions by opening plants in places other than Seattle. The ruling further states that Boeing can keep their South Carolina plant if they also build an equivalent plant in Seattle as well. Such wasteful duplication would cost a fortune and, god forbid, think of the carbon footprint!

What if the NLRB forces Boeing to move back to Seattle (probably a billion dollar move). What about all those Poor Southern Blacks that will NOT get a job in a factory that is not opened?

The question is, which does Obama care more for – the economically disadvantaged members of his own racial group or the powerful union? It is easy to figure out the answer – the group that gives the largest campaign contributions!

The Power of an Idea

Movies live or die based on the first weekend at the box office. This past weekend, Atlas Shrugged grossed $1,670,000. That was with a release of only 300 theaters.

Compare that to Leonardo DiCaprio’s epic, The 11th Hour. His AlGore re-hash grossed only $985,207 world-wide in its 7 weeks of release. 28% of that revenue was from non-US theaters. At its peak, it was showing in 111 theaters.

Rather than comparing Atlas Shrugged with the production of a third rate eco-wannabe, lets do a more apple-to-apples comparison.

Robert Redford’s much touted The Conspirator also open this past weekend. The History Channel, et al, did their best to give Redford all the free advertising possible by re-running a slate of Lincoln assassination documentaries in the weeks running up to Redford’s release. The Conspirator also enjoyed the benefit of a large marketing budget.

The results show that Objectivism has more power than Redford. The Conspirator opened on 707 theaters and grossed $3,924,000. Atlas Shrugged grossed slightly more per theater than The Conspirator ($5,567 vs. $5,550).

Atlas Shrugged had several disadvantages compared to The Conspirator. Among these were no big name actors, virtually no marketing campaign, a very limited production budget and Redford was not involved. Atlas Shrugged made up for these shortcomings with something the rest of Hollywood does not posses: The Power of an Idea.

Whores, Idiots and Heretics

When it comes to the subject of Global Warming, Climate Change or the Environment, I have concluded that everyone generally falls into one of three distinct categories: Whores, Idiots and Heretics.

The Eco-Whores: The best (or worst, depending on your perspective) example I can give is Al Gore. He has worked tirelessly spreading the gospel of climate change. He has done such an effective job that he even won a Nobel Peace Prize for his work. Note that I said “Peace” prize – not economics, physics or chemistry. You see, these prizes are for the hard sciences – things subject to extensive peer review and public scrutiny. The Peace prize, on the other hand, is a purely political prize handed out to whoever is popular at the moment. No real work goes into winning this prize – you just have to be popular.

Al Gore is a Whore because he has worked diligently to shape public policy in the US and around the world for no other reason than to expand his financial holdings. Gore was one of the co-founders of Generation Investment Management LLP, a for-profit corporation that “integrates sustainability research into a rigorous traditional investment process in order to deliver superior long-term results.” In other words, lobbies government to pass silly laws like Cap-and-Trade so that Al Gore and his buddies can make a quick buck selling eco-snake oil.

Gore isn’t the only eco-whore out there. There are thousands of “scientists” who have sold their integrity so that they could get their hands on research dollars. Here is an example as reported in The Washington Post.

In one e-mail from 1999, the center's [Climate Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia (UEA)] director, Phil Jones, alludes to one of Mann's articles in the journal Nature and writes, "I've just completed Mike's Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (i.e., from 1981 onwards) and from 1961 for Keith's to hide the decline [in temperature]."

In other words, if the data doesn’t agree with the green agenda, lie!

The biggest Whores of all are the politicians who use a fabricated crisis to sell a bill of goods that the ignorant masses will gladly accepts. As with all the other sub-groups of Whores, the truth be damned and don’t forget to throw in a dose of theatrics to cover up your lack of hard evidence. Take the example of Senator Timothy Wirth (D-CO). In the PBS Series Frontline, the episode titled Hot Politics (April 24, 2007), the narrator states “he we was not above using a little stagecraft for [James] Hansen’s testimony”. Wirth admits, “We called the weather bureau and found out what was historically the hottest day of the summer.” They scheduled Hansen to testify on that day. Wirth further stated, “we went in the night before and opened all the windows, I will admit, so that the air conditioning wasn’t working inside the room.”

He said all this with a sly smile. Bastard! You purposely altered reality to get you agenda on the map.

The Eco-Idiots: What passes for science in the minds of most people of the world is tragic. The Idiots understand of the workings of scientists bears more resemblance alchemy than to the application of the scientific method. Like religious zealots, they simply listen to the holy word and follow the teachings of whichever Eco-Whore has pushed his way into the pulpit.

To the Idiots, the earth is heating up, the oceans are rising and we are all destined to be blown away by a category 20 hurricane sometime soon! At least that’s what they say they believe. Examine their actions, and you will see a different thing indeed. I do not know a single person who has made any significant effort to live a “green” lifestyle. Sure, some nibble around the edges by putting trash into a recycle bin or buying bullshit eco-friendly products. Sadly, they are too stupid to check things out for themselves. They don’t realize that 80% of the material chucked into the recycle bin gets forwarded to the regular landfill (while unwilling taxpayers like myself are billed to have the trash sorted at the plant). They don’t bother to read the fine print on the eco-friendly product label to see that the stuff is just a diluted version of the regular product. They just know that they “feel good” doing something green.

However, rarely does their action mesh with the lip-service they pay to the environment. Just look at the popularity of SUVs and big screen televisions. The fact is that most of these Idiots are unwilling to change any meaningful aspect of their lives in order to achieve their stated goal of reducing carbon emissions. From my perspective, the only thing that matters is knowledge and results. The Idiots have neither knowledge nor do they produce results.

The Eco-Heretic: Well, that’s me. I don’t believe any of this Anthropogenic Global Warming bullshit.

The Wall has fallen. Long live the Wall!

I had hoped that I would be able to post a long overdue obituary today for The Berlin Wall (August 13, 1961 – November 9, 1989). Along with it should have been all of Socialism as well. Sadly, socialist and walls still exist.

The wall was constructed as a means of imposing Socialism on an unwilling population. During The Wall’s existence, over 5,000 people successfully escaped. By some estimates, more than 1,000 died trying. It is difficult to be sure of this number given the totalitarian nature of the East German government.

Less than 48 hours ago, lurking about in the dead of night much like a Stasi agent, the US House of Representatives strung the barbed wire that served as a temporary barrier prior to the construction of the concrete wall. Built out of more than 1,900 pages of paper, the ObamaCare package will trap me, an unwilling victim, inside a system of socialized medicine.

Next, the Senate will pour the concrete. Once the bill makes it to the Conference Committee, the concrete will harden. After that, Obama promises punishment for all who do not cooperate. Erich Honecker may have died in 1994, his reincarnation now lives in The White House. Long live the Wall!
